Symptoms:
- Burning or gnawing pain in the upper abdomen
- Nausea or bloating
- Vomiting or loss of appetite
- Blood in vomit or stool (in severe cases)
Diagnosis:
- Upper GI Endoscopy
- Testing for H. pylori infection
- Blood or stool tests
Treatment:
- Antibiotics to eliminate H. pylori
- Acid-reducing medications (PPIs or H2 blockers)
- Dietary counselling to avoid irritants like NSAIDs, alcohol, and spicy foods
